Design Team: Me + Polyana Andrade + Rafael Rozendo
Working remotely since March has taken a toll on our team's design culture and collaboration. For people who joined the design team before the quarantine began there was this feeling of remembrance of when we could all be together on Thursdays - our Design Studio Day - a day dedicated to designers getting together at our studio and running rituals, co-designs, critiques, and socializing. For people who joined the team remotely there was this feeling that there was something missing in culture from what they envisioned and that it was too hard to get to know people on the team or get a break from squad's work.
Thursdays became a regular work day like all others, with the exception of two chapter zoom meetings. During one of those meetings - an updates session for the Consumer Lending team of designers (15 designers) - I ran a retrospective in order to understand designers perspective and identify areas for improvement.
Main themes we identified from the retro
These main themes we've identified for improvement are essential aspects of design culture. It was pressing that we'd deep dive into them and create solutions.
